Ever since late last summer, my amp quick working on me. I thought it was a wiring issue but I tested it last nigh and there it power going in. The power light is no longer on when the sound system comes on. I also tested to see if audio could be coming out and it tested positive for that. I really dont think its my sub, but can an amp simply quick working? The fuse is also good.
Amps can die for sure usually takes incorrect wiring or incorrect equipment, Could be remote turn-on wire? Or blown sub could be an issue? Sounds like the amp isn't turning on if the power light isn't on when the radio is on... THINGS TO CHECK: 1.Power to the amp...check 2.Remote Turn-on Wire connected to proper wire behind radio (blue with white stripe)... 3.Power 12V through the remote turn-on when radio is on. 4.IF the sub is blown it could cause the amp to overload going into protection mode (or shutting down completely) 5.with the car off Try unhooking the sub (dont touch wires together) and then turning the car/radio on and if the amp turns on you know the sub is blown and shorting the amp out. 6. If #5 works and you have a multimeter set it to ohms and then test the sub alone you should have a resistance somewhere between 1.5 to 4 depending on the sub (2ohm sub= 1.5 thru 2... a 4ohm sub=3.5 to 4) Let me know how is goes...get back to me if nothing proves out.
