Ok just got done washing my car and took her for a spin around town. I had a 05 pull up behind me at a light (nice looking car black with stripes). He new I was going to launch (I know he wanted me to) it. So when the light turned green away we went. Tires spun but they caught fast. My car gave a nice chirp at 2nd and 3rd. I had to let off after that as not to go over the speed limit by much. So my question is why would I want 3.73s or 4.10s if she spins the tires and chirps the gears now (lots of tread left on my tires). Wouldn't it just be pointless seeing as then I would spin instead of chirping going threw the gears?
its what happens after you hook that makes gears more than worth it. Sure you have to adjust your launch a little, but Ive pulled 2.0 60's with 4.10s and All-Season Sumitomos (far from a good hooking tire). With decent rubber and a competent driver, gears will do nothing but help your cars performance.
well the benefit form gears is that what ever power your car is putting down can be used more effeiciently by getting into the power band faster
