Sometimes my car idles high, 1200, 1500, the other day it was at 2000 RPM. The first few times I noticed this, it happened after I had been revving high getting up this hill on my way home from school (shifting around 4500-5000). Lately, it does it even if I'm not shifting high. What's weird is when I come to a stop with it in nuetral, if I stick in the clutch, put it in first, put it back in nuetral, and let the clutch out, it goes back to 800 or so RPM. Any ideas why it doese this?
idles sometimes are erratic in these cars...basicly can be traced down though. High idle -------- Vaccum leak (for mass air/vam). Bad/incorrect throttle postion sensor(TPS) settings. Bad/dirty idle air control silinoid (IAC). These are the usual trouble makers, check'em out, chances are youll find one or more outa wack.
