I would like some more info on the Active Anti-theft system and can some one help me out and any pictures of Medium Parchment. I'm waiting for the VIN now Todd
I picked up my 2005 GT this past week and this is straight from the owners manual: The active anti-theft system is designed to warn you in the event of an unauthorized entry to your vehicle and is also designed to help prevent the unwanted towing of the vehicle. When the vehicle is locked and armed, the active anti-theft system monitors the following: * Doors * Hood * Trunk * Movement inside the vehicle * Change in vehicle inclination Note: The actice-anti theft system includes a motion detection system which monitors the passenger cabin and a vehicle incline sensor which detects changes in vehicle attitude.
What happens when something it "tripped" from the Active system? Does the Horn blow or sends a signal to the remote etc...???
From the manual: When unauthorized entry or towing occurs, the system will flash the turn signal lamps and interior lamps and sounds the security horn.
If you want a warning if the car is moved or stolen I would suggest Lojack Early Warnig system. If your car is moved/stolen it will call up to five contacts. I have it set to call my cell, home, wifes cell, email and my numeric pager in the event my car is stolen or moved. It cost about 1k extra but gets you 15% off your liability insurance thus eventualy paying for itself.
