on their back in their driveway? Was it a pain in the ***? Going to try to do it without removing the driveshaft. More than likely I will have too. :( Hope I can get it high enough on ramps.

I had mine installed in 1.5 hours on my back on a pair of plastic oil change ramps. I did need an extra set of hands actually getting the Hurst into place (I was under the car and someone else guided it down from inside the car. Other than that it was much easier than the under drive pullies, that I put i about 2 years ago. Very easy DIY project in the drive way and I didn't take my drive shaft out, but I will be in 2 weeks when I get my Spyder Shaft!!

I did it on the large rhino ramps (gray ones for SUVs) and I'm not a small dude.

The hardest part is getting the stock shifter out, after that it's cake.

I also was stung on the ear by a wasp that lived underneath my girlfriend's car at the time. :(

I did it with basic hand tools on the driveway without removing the driveshaft. It is by no means impossible.

yup, did it in my driveway on jackstands. Did not touch the driveshaft. It took an hour or two, and was a bit awkward at times, but then just slid right into place. If you do take out the driveshaft, it would be 10 times easier, but then, I am not sure how difficult it is to take in and out the driveshaft.

Best Mod Ever! Mine is the Billet shifter, so it may have actually been more difficult because it is a bit wider.

If you have not done so already, visit the MGW website, and download their video on how to install the MGW. That will help tons. Also, you may want to buy some dynamat and put it all over the place during the install. It will cut down on road/tranny noise, shifter vibration, and just make the whole thing more solid. I did not do that, but am thinking about going back in and just covering the whole mess in dynamat.

+1 on the plastic ramps and the extra set of hands. You could do it by yourself but it takes longer then if someone threads the thing down the shift tunnel. Also I did it at stock ride height and it was a tight squeeze. I don't think I could be able to do it again the same way now that the car is lowered.

i did mine with just jackstands under the front of the car. took about an hour with taking the pics for the write up. its not that bad. i did my brother in laws install on a lift, and i thought it was harder to do it that way.

Thanks for the info......piece of cake install! The shifter is night and day difference! Nice upgrade....short, crisp shifts.....No noise or rattle.

    Very Happy with it
