alright everyone talks about swapping from the 3.8 to a 4.6 but has anyone actually done it without giving up half way through or having any trouble? if so what parts did you need besides the obvious engine and transmission and mounts, and driveshaft and rear end???

my dream setup would be a mach 1 engine with cobra six speed running with turbo...

ecu, wire harnesses, speedo cluster if you want to get fancy, after market radiator would be a good idea.

If you have a 94-95 I would go with a 351 swap. You need a new k-member in the 94-95s for the modular engine and vice versa.

If you get a T-56, get a viper spec. .50 6th gear ratio as compared to the .62 6th gear ratio in the cobra. Since 6th gear will only see time on the highway, might as well make those rpms as low as possible and save some gas ;)

    What's the difference between a 4.6 and a 5.4? More stroke?

Requires alot of work, and just as much, if not more, money as it would if you just got a V8 to begin with. You would need the engine, transmission, wiring harness, ecu, mounts, rear end, axles, ect and still more for the turbo project. You would basically have to strip the car down and put it back together. A 2.3 to 2.3T swap can take a month just swapping engine and the ECU, imagine a V6 to V8 swap which requires alot more work. Not to mention you have to have other transportation while you wait on the swap for many months, so there's more expenditures, might as well just get a Mach I or Cobra with 4V and start modding.
