I'm thinking of going to the 17" Pony's but I'm not sure what width and backspacing will look best on a stock 1990 hatchback. Anyone have any ideas what would be the best size's. I may lower the car in the future about an inch and a half! Thanks.

i was thinking of getting a set of the Pony R's mainly so i could find some decent tires (really want a set of nitto 555's but cant find them in 16's) but was worried about rubbing. Ive already lowered my car and the 16's tuck in kinda nice.

Yeah thats what I want, the widest possible tire in back with 245's up front! I want to make sure I get the right size to obtain that perfect tuck!

    Go with a 17X8 up front and a 245-45-17.

Go with a 17X8 out back with the same size tire. This will eliminate any rubbing issues, you can still run quad shocks and you don't have to worry about lowering the car.

17X9's would be better looking, but now, you might not be able to keep the quad shocks, so now you have wheel hop, you might have to worry about rubbing when lowered, and tire prices go up with a wider tire.

Any way you go, those wheels look completely AWESOME!!!

17x9s or larger out back with a 275 tire would look mean :D.

Here's my former car with 8/10 245/45 fronts and 285/40 rears Nitto 555. I'm waiting on silver 6.5/10 to put on my white coupe.
