I'm curious how it is to drive. My next car (current is a '98GT) will most likely be either a V6 S197 or a '99-'04 GT. I only drive manual transmission cars.

I didnt get it yet.. Probably next week-end.. Now that I have a shop ready to do the install on a Saturday, I can plan on it.. He would like to have the car all day on a Saturday at the shop, and give it back to me in about 4 hours..

Excellent! Can't wait to hear about that. You going with the 3.73s too? With that exhaust, gears and the locker, you should be well into the 14s. :spot:

Yes, based on pwrhws's work sheet, in regards to the torque spread throughout the powerband.. Then we have Scrmings run driven by Lidio with his 4.10's.. This all boils down to the 3.73's being the best choice for us..

The 3.73's should still place the 400RWTQ band close to the half track section of a 1/4 mile run.. I mean, in 3rd gear, you will still enjoy 400RWHP with the 3.73's, where as the 4.10's in 3rd gear will drop the torque into the 300RWTQ area.. Let me get the work sheet.. Stand by..

Ok, so looking at this, you can see how a 3.73 setup should be able to still enjoy pretty close to 400RWTQ at around half track or more.. This is why the 3.73 gear car, could over power the same car with 4.10's at the end of the run.. Study the sheet, and you will understand what I mean..

Keep in mind, this worksheet was done with 4.10 gears..

So how you look at this is in relation to the 3600RPM mark.. We can also use 4th gear as a good measure.. We should be at half track in 3rd gear shifting to 4th.. This will drop the rpms down to less than 3600RPM... So at half track, you would really start to pick up steam with the 3.73's..

Also, for you Jimp, this is at the 75 Shot level.. LOL!! Dont get too greedy my man.. Hold some back! LOL! :nice:

You have a 5speed right rygen? Definately let me know how it goes. I would rather go with 3.55s cuz i do a lot of highway driving (road trips). but if the 3.73s make a huge diff i might go with them.

No, mine is an auto, but I will keep you posted. I do a lot of highway driving, but in DC, the traffic is so bad the most I get up to is 60mph!
