is anyone runnign the trickflow stage 2 cam...how do you like it and breif rundown on mods..also is anyone runnign it with the 540 springs that come standard on twisted wedge heads i heard they underrate them and i could get away with the 542/563 lift on my stock bottem end with those springs if i keep it around 6000 rpm
I love the cam , lot more than the Fcam i got rid of. I did switch to the spring upgrade no way would i take the chance. I value the time and money invested in my engine. And i sold the old TFS springs to compensate cost.
I am running the stage 1 with the 1.7RRs on my 347. Heads are E7s ported out to the max with 1.84/1.54 valves and upgraded springs. intake is an Explorer cleaned up with 65mm TB and 77mm MAF. Runs strong! Idle is very good with the car with only a slight buck at 1500-1800 RPMs, but not constant. Still working on that since I only have about 500 miles on the combo.
i think the stage 2 is a perfect cam for a small block...im debating on putting it in or waiting till i get new springs whats everyones opinion
91lxntch---I'm running the stage2 on a factory shortblock with no problems but I do have the upgraded springs. It idles decent right around 900rpm pulls strong from 2k-pass redline does buck a little at low speeds but it's nothing you couldn't live with, just requires more gear changes..Times are in my sig was hoping to get a 12second pass on radials but but the pilot bearing took a dump and caused the input shaft to do a little walking...Hope this helps you out
