I have a 1994 former V6 with an AODE transmission. The power plant is now a Boss Cleveland. I want to run the AODE with the stock computer. I run into the problem because the only sensors I have hooked up are the TPS, CTS, and the Tach wire hooked into the computer. I had to run an oil pressure switch to the fuel pump to keep that running because the computer did not sense the engine running. I also put in a thermo coupling to control the cooling fan. The transmission is still hooked into the computer and I am wondering what info the PCM needs to control the transmission shift from the engine. Thank you for any info provided.

The ECU will need to see the engine RPM and the VSS signal (vehicle speed sensor). If I am not mistaken it will want either the T/P sensor or the BARO (barometric pressure) sensor signal as well. The BARO sensor will let the ECU know what load is on the engine and that helps it compute which gear would/should be used.

I just ran it down the road and it shifted all the way to od with the only engine info hooked up (TPS and CTS). I have add fluid so it might be a little low, not sure how low may a quart, and I have to check tps adjustment.
