I just ordered some nitto 555 extreme 245/45 z17's for my cobra. Are these tires pretty good? Anything should be better than my bald kumos. By the way I was really unhappy with the kumo tires. Any feed back would be great.

I think they are great tires especially for the money. Right now I have 275's up front on 03 rims and the 315 Drag radials out back on 03 rims also.

I just put some of those on the front of my car yesterday. They are the same size as yours & all. I think they are great, and they match nicely with my 555R drag radials out back.

Id say they are the best all around performance tire and the reason is a pretty good tread pattern matched with that big 300 treadwear rating. I actually just mounted some 18x9 - 18x10 black deep dish bullitts on my 99 and would have definetly got the nittos but they dont make the sizes i wanted. I ended up putting on some 275-295 35 18 kumho mx's and i have to say the tread pattern is awsome. The outter blocks are almost the size of the nitto drags i had. Treadwear is only 220 and thats the reason i like the nittos, you'll be happy with them im sure. late

Never used any of their tires except the drag radials, which are on both Mustangs. I like those just fine. :D

Yep agree - Nitto 555 Extreme's kick butt over my old Kumo's. Taking them to the track (yes, these are streets and not DR's) and my 60' times dropped. Cornering is aaaaaaawesome!

nittos are too loud(road noise) and wear too quickly, and dont handle all that great. the bfg gforce KDWS is about the same price, quiter , handle as well if not better, and last much, much longer than nittos. IMo with regular driving nitto 555 extreme wear too quickly. Most people get them cause they want a tire that looks Nitto! Have had sumi, falken, kuhmo, bfg pirelli, nitto, yoko, on the stang and the bfg are the only tire that i bought more than one set. Got 20k miles out of them, and i got a bit of a lead foot like y'all.

Michelin pilot sports rule but i only put those on my 996 cab. kinda hard to justify spending 1500 on tires for a mustang.

Are those the stock 9" wheels? I am looking into getting 315's in the back also, and I heard that they run a little more narrow than other tire's, that's why they will fit on the 9" wheel.

Humm you must not have a "real" lead foot. I have your famed BFG's on my 98 making roughly 260 wheel HP. Not only are these KDWS these are topline KD's, and they break loose very bad in 2nd.

And with roughly 400 wheel HP, the KDWS would not even stand a chance. If you could keep it straight it would be still spinning at the top of 3rd at roughly 100 MPH (wheel speed). I am sorry but I like how my 315 DR's hook, absolutly no spin in 2nd when they are hot.

Do any of you guys have the Nitto's 315 on your stock 17X9 cobra rims in the back? I am thinking of getting that size, but not sure if it will fit. Peace!

no questions asked, get it ;). They are a little wider than the stocker, but you will love the added traction.
