Hey, I was thinking with the upcoming spring/summer season that maybe us Indiana stang people could get together for a car meet/track meet sometime. Maybe in Indy? The location can be determined depending on who all it up to going. If we get enough people it may be possible to rent out the 1/4 drag strip in Indy for a night. I've heard of them renting the track out for large car clubs/groups. Technically, I suppose we could be considered the stangnet mustang club . Either way, I dunno what the price would run, but it may fall some where in the 30-60 dollar range a person... higher or lower depending on how many stangs we can get together. Just imagine a track chuck full of fellow stangneters! With that said, how many people are interested in a meet like this? Please post your interest and opinions about the idea! We can work out details after that!
Yeah, I think so too! Where abouts are you located? Would you be willing to chip in for a track meet? Also, do you have any other local stang friends that would want to come! Come on people! We need more than two people willing to go!!!!
I figured most people wouldn't want to drive to another state! If you wanna come you are more than welcome! Man, this meet isn't just for indiana.. its for any mustangs that wanna be there! If you are willing to hop the border be my guest! And bring some friends when you do! Are you seriously interested? Im really trying to get a list going so I can quote some track rental prices!
Awesome, if worse comes to worse and we don't get enough people to rent the track out to ourselfs we can go on a tuner night when there are minimal people so we can get more runs in. Putting together enough people to rent out a track will be a big task for the Indy IRP dragway. I've seen a ricer club do is last summer and they had around 50 cars... So who knows... Come on people! This is a great oppurtunity to run your car on the track in the Famous Indy Dragway! Also, a great oppurtunity to call someone out and have several stangnet witnesses! Grude matches, Money bet matches, and just good old fashing drag racing for an entire night! It will be great times! So, start posting your ideas and put your name on the list!
Awesome, so thats three so far! Hey, I noticed you are located in the TH. I've been to that track at least a dozen times! Right now I'm attending Indiana University so I live in Bloomington but my Hometown is Spencer (about 40 minutes from you). Either way, just thought I would say whats up and thanks for signing up!
The date has yet to be determined. Right now I am open to any opinions people may have. Keep in mind that if we plan to rent out the Indy dragway we will have to work around their schedule as they have quite a few NHRA events through the season. However, I believe we should shoot for a date sometime in the begining/middle of the summer. Please post your opinons on dates. If more people show interests and I (more so the dragway) feels we have enough cars to rent the track I can come close to picking out a certain date. So, what do you guys think? What would be *Ideal*?
Beginning/middle of summer is great. Just watch out for other race dates for nearby locations as well. For instance, there is an NMRA event in Joliet, IL in July. Perhaps if others put a link to this proposed event in their sigs in the other forums they visit and that could aid in attracting more participants. I'll put one in my sig at the Corral since I visit there a lot more than here.
Yes, that is a GREAT idea... everyone wanting to go and get people together should put this thread in the sig.. like i did.. So, anytime after the first weekend in may? Is that because you attend a university and need to wait till classes end? (thats the same way here with me too) It would probably be a good idea to wait till most Universities are done with classes.
Im in for the drag also the indianapolis mustang club has the 500 track on july 9th and 10 th you for a car show , plus you get to take your car out on the track . 86 svo cam ported e6 t3t4 cone filter 98 cobra rims
LOL, while the 500 track would be nice... I don't think my car could handle it its a striaght line kinda car. But awesome, I hope to you see you at the drag meet. By any chance, does anyone know how many cars are in the Indy mustang club?
