I raced somebody the other day from a stop light by using the first gear....then letting off the gas at the redline, went into 2nd, then doing the same for putting it into drive. Having an auto it definitly made my car faster by being able to redline my low gears....

Is doing that extremly bad for the transmission?

I know auto trans is made up of multiple clutches....but when u let off the gas it doesnt feel like the gear is going down in revs like a 5 speed would.

Just making sure because I def dont want to do it again if it'll blow out my transmission.

The reason you can't keep it floored and have to let up to make it shift with any kind of speed is cause its made to shift slow and smooth. You are making the clutches nice n crispy by doing this. That is why I always recommend a shift kit and tranny cooler.....ALWAYS.
