I have a problem with the back of my drivers side doorspeaker hitting the window track. Sometimes I will try and put down the window and I will hit the button and I hear a crackling and my stereo goes into protect mode. Whats happening is its messing with the magnet on the back of the speaker when I role down the window and its putting it in protect. I tried putting a washer behind each of the screws on the speaker to bring the speaker out a bit, but I couldnt get it to come out far enough. I thought about getting a thicker washer and a longer screw, but then I wont be able to get the speaker grille on. So then I thought of putting something on the back of the speaker so when it hits it wont screw with the stereo. I just can figurre it out....any help would be appreciated....THANKS!

I am assuming that the door speakers are not stock.

I had to use a special application Pioneer when I changed all my stock speakers out. I have all JL's , but the door speakers have to be thinner so theat the power window does not hit them. Some on here have made custom molded pods that allow the speaker to be mounted away from the door panel, not behind it.

I would look into getting a thinner speaker, it would be the easiest.

I would love for some place to sell the molded things that make the thicker backing of the speakers fit. i really hate when the bass hits in the speaker and it hits against the speaker grille. I tried turning the bass all the way down in the speakers but i still hear it when the bass is hitting.
