i just bought a 2000 mustang gt and it recently developed this bad vibration that shaked the crap out of my console. the faster i go the worse it gets...but it only does it when i'm off the gas. if i smash the pedal it goes away but starts to vibrate again at half throttle or when i let off it.

it starts vibrating when i go from third to fourth and from then on out...cause like i said its really most noticable at around 50 mph and above. could it be something with the driveshaft...or maybe a motor mount or something like that. any help i can get would be great cause its really a pain to drive like this...

try disconnecting your driveshaft from the rear ens and turning it a 1/4 turn & reconnect it. Or see if there are any factory marks on it that aren't lined up with the flange on the rear end.

Sounds like driveshaft. Does the car have gears. Also could be wheels/tires. Need more info

Good thing those bolts didn't fall out on the highway.
