i just bought a 2000 mustang gt and it recently developed this bad vibration that shaked the crap out of my console. the faster i go the worse it gets...but it only does it when i'm off the gas. if i smash the pedal it goes away but starts to vibrate again at half throttle or when i let off it. it starts vibrating when i go from third to fourth and from then on out...cause like i said its really most noticable at around 50 mph and above. could it be something with the driveshaft...or maybe a motor mount or something like that. any help i can get would be great cause its really a pain to drive like this...
try disconnecting your driveshaft from the rear ens and turning it a 1/4 turn & reconnect it. Or see if there are any factory marks on it that aren't lined up with the flange on the rear end.
i should have checked this before starting a thread...but all 4 bolts were loose on the driveshaft. yeah, i can see that causing some vibration haha. anyways, i put some thread locker on em and bolted it back up...smooth as silk! thanks for the help. i'm just glad thats all it was....
yeah no doubt. a couple of them were backed off pretty good. i guess thats the thing about buying used vehicles...u never know whats been done. like u said, that was an accident waitin to happen!
