    Hi All,

Need your help! I am getting ready to install my SS Bassani exhaust system in my '01 Cobra... heres the problem. On Bassanis paperwork they clearly state NO WELDING the exhaust together, it voids warranty. But, looking for an install shop, they consistently say that you really should weld it together to avoid rattles and leaks... not to mention its much cleaner looking. Makes sense, with temp cycling hot/cold, hot/cold would loosen things up over time.

What have you guys with SS Bassani exhaust systems done? Why would Bassani say NO WELDING? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    JB

My magnaflow came in sections as well, but no comment on not welding. I had it put in my '03 with the supplied hardware and had no problems at all. Had 36K on it when I swapped it into my new '04. No problems there, either.

Just tell the exhaust guys just to put it on like the manufacturer states, I seriously doubt you will have any problems. My Magnaflow X and Cat-back never rattled, came unglued or moved, and I've now got the Bassani Mid-lengths and Bassani X mated to the Mag. cat-back, again, nothing moving around down there.

    Good luck.

As long as the bolts are nice and tight, the exhaust should never go anywhere...

The fit on the Bassani for my '03 was dead on. If you are installing X-pipe it shouldnt need to be welded anywhere...put mine on last week after trying a MAC Prochamber- Which fit terribly and would not stop leaking. The Bassani fits and seals as well as stock if you put it together right. Besides the Bassani X-pipes have xchangeable Cats/Racepipes. You would not be able to switch if you weld those sections- The Band clamps work fine on the X-pipe as well as on the cat-back section. I've checked and re-checked for leaks over the last week- No problems.

Had my Exhaust on for a year. No welding needed to install. It runs fine with no rattles or leaks.
