I need help here, as of right now I'm running a bbk x-pipe but I'm looking to switch it out with a more reliable brand. I have had some very bad experinces with bbk products thus far. Anyhow, my local mustang shop here where I live recommend bassani as an x-pipe with the bassani cat back. Now I have heard rumors of their converters giving out rather quickly and also that bassani does not cover the cats under their warrenty. Upon further research on their web site it is clear the their warrenty only cover the pipe itself and not the cat. converters. While the shop expresses nothing but great reviews from previous buyers, I'd like to get one last opinion from people who have run this product on their cobras. Do they run great or have you guys had problems with them. I'm already feed up with bbk and their products. Some help please? :(

I'm Happy with my bassani Xhaust. The o/r X pipe and cat-back are made really well couldn't be happier. I hear their customer service is Horrible, but I've never had to deal with them. I had a 98Gt with Bassani catted x pipe, was'nt to happy with that one, the cats hung down to low and I tore them up when I hit every bump in the road thats why I went O/R this time around. :nice:

I can't go off road for smog reasons here. So I definetly need the cats on the pipe.

FWIW, the cats on the Magnaflow X-pipes are top of the line (just an option). The earlier problems with Bassani's cats were associated with their older catalytic converters IIRC. It seems like they have resolved that issue with their newer X-pipes which are equipped with catalytic converters...

i have a 98 cobra with bassani x-pipe with hi-flow cats and i have had no problems. it is very easy to put on because it comes in a few pieces. the only complaint that i have is that they advertise as all stainless, and it is, except for on part of the flanges on each side. that has some surface rust. other than that it is great. :D

One of the main reasons for me wanting to switch out the bbk x-pipe was because the flangs were not stainless steel. After four months of having the pipe installed the flangs had expanded in size due to the heat of the pipe and actually went over were the pipe meets the flowmasters and the pipe nearly feel off on to the road. The shop that installed it would not cover it due to it not being an installation problem. My buudy who is a mechanic took a look and said he did agree with the shop. BBk would not cover the expense to send me new flangs. So I just ended up welding it together for now. I try not to put products down or give them bad word of mouth but bbk has yet to sell me a product that I am proud of. I don't really going through the flang situation again with another pipe. :nonono:

Bassani is second to none. They are much better than their competitors in sound, quality, and performance. Go with them, you won't be disappointed.

Yeah, bassani has new cats, and they actually will help HP on some cars compaired to an O/R pipe. (03/04 cobras without cats loost back pressure and loose boost) But the new cats are slimmer and top of the line. Gonna put mine back on soon.. I just love the sound without them. :flame:

It is very much worth it. I had it on my 99 GT that I had a while back and it sounded sooo good. It might not sound worth it for what it cost, but it really is.

I wonder if what was stated about 03/04 cobra's loosing torque.... compared to what? the stock h pipe or the x-pipe without cats?

I'm gonna have mine dynoed on Sat, but here's how I've seen it. At lower RPM, you loose a conciderable amount of power without the cats because there is no back pressure.. You may gain like 1 or 2 peek HP without the cats, but you gain about 5-10 with them on at lower HP. So you're looking at better 60ft times with the cats on and maybe a .001 sec diff with them off. I'll have numbers this weekend.

I hope you get it dyno'ed with and without the cats so we can see the entire curve. I am getting this done too, but it will be July before it's done.

I've had a grin on my face from ear to ear since the day I got my Bassanis installed. :D

I've had no problems at all and they sound like no other system! Love them...you won't be dissapointed. :nice:
