Bassani X-Pipe with cats and check engine light

I put a Bassani X Pipe with cats on about 2 months ago, also have the JBA's. Got a check engine light and took it to the dealer, they ran a diagnostic and said it was the cats causing the light. Anyone else getting this? Took 2 months for it to come on. Ordered a K&N but think I will sell it and get the C&L with the preditor to tune the computer.

You need to get your car tuned. I'm not touching my intake or exhaust (except for my axle back) in any way until I get it tuned that same day. You are lucky you didnt lean your car out. Don't wait. Do it ASAP

I have had mine on for roughly a month now with no problems at all other than being stopped twice for excessive noise

What exhaust cans are you running, josh? With cats I wouldn't expect it to be *that* loud.

I too had the CEL come on about a month and a half after installing the X pipe. Dealer ran the codes and said it was indeed because of the exhaust. The light is gone now, guess I will wait and see how long before it comes on again.....

My Catted X and catback system have been on for 7 months and I've had no lights come on.

Did you unhook the battery during the X pipe install ??

You do not need a tune to install a catted X or catback system....But you must disconnect the battery during the install so when the computer resets itself it resets to the new pipes.

Your dealer should have been able to reset the light....

Did not disconnect the battery, never even crossed my mind....
The dealer did reset it, no CEL right now. Hopefully that is the end of it.
