How does this setup sound with the bassani axel-backs? Also is the X with compcats legal in all 50 states?

So I take it the compcats won't pass inspection. I don't know how other guys are putting these systems on their cars unless they plan on changing their exhaust every year for inspection. Damn I want my car to sound good but its impossible with these new stangs!! It seems like an x-pipe without compcats sounds like crap with most mufflers and staying with the stock H-pipe is too quite.

New mustangs bite, you can't do jack to em:Damnit:

Ok since I'm stuck with the stock cats and headers, would getting the plain bassani x-pipe make any difference in sound if I get the bassani axel-backs? Should I stay with the stock H-pipe? Anyone have sound clips? I'm set on getting the bassani x with axel backs, I was gonna get the flows but they sound horrible with just the plain x.

To my understanding everything is "bolt on" right so there is really nothing permanent about the change...so if my assumption is correct and emissions fail then replace the x with the stock h and there you go

If your emissions aren't the stinky test and they just plug their stuff into the OBDII, then get the MIL eliminators from brenspeed and you will pass just fine. But that's only if your inspections aren't when they stick a tube into your exhaust pipe.

Here in arizona, I think new cars are exempt from emissions testing for like 7 years or something. When I had my 04 6er (bought new) I got my tags in the mail with out even having it tested

Yeah I'm also getting axel back exhaust and maybe an x but not sure yet. I'm also still really debating what brand to get. I was just reading that the bassani's don't sound that great by themselves. So I don't know what to get...:nonono:

Anyone that's heard them will tell you the Macs drone BAD. They sound great outside the car, but I know people that have replaced them simply because of the interior noise.

I don't know much about the Hooker (I'm married :) ) but they do sound great on the clips I've heard. Don't know about the interior sound though.

Regarding the Bassani, overall I'm very happy with mine. The tone is great and there is slight drone right at 1800 rpm but it's very easy to live with and goes away once you hit 2000 rpm. Sound quality and build quality is very very good in my opinion. Sometimes I wish they were louder, but other times I'm happy that they're not. I may add the Pypes offroad H to my system to get more of that Bassani tone.

If you use an expipe with or without cats, u need to add resonators before the axle back.
No tail pipe after the muffler on our s197 is different from the previous years stangs. No tail pipe to cancel out sonic vibrations etc. so they dont sound as good.

just add resonators in the xpipe.
