    What is the correct battery group size? Looking for a Motorcraft battery, bigger the better but will still fit in stock location.

    This came up a while back, I'm 99% certain the OE size was 22F, which is pretty tough to find today.

    I just picked up a gel-cell type Exide Orbital (similar to Optima) which fits fine and 800 CCA. Cost $150+tax.
