I am getting ready to replace my car battery, I just wanted any opinions as to which battery I should go with next. I used to have the motorcraft one, it was ok then I just bought a autozone brand x and now I feel my rpms dipp very low when I put the car in reverse....it's kind of strange, the gauge meter doesn't show low but I don't want to be stuck somewhere with a dead battery, it happened to me with the Motorcracft one which lead me to buy the autozone one out of " I need a battery NOW' situation to get home. Any word on the optima battery, I looked as to which one I should go with but I can not find any info, my brother at Napa said to go with the yellow top.......is that ok? I have 1998 automatic V-6 with dual exhaust,CIA and a a BBK underdrive pulley.....so I just want a reliable battery. Thanks in advance for any input.

I used a Yellow Top Optima in my 96 Stang and liked it. Interstate batteries are pretty good also. Honestly, get a battery with the longest replacement/prorate warranty you can find. I used to get the top of the line battery at Wal-Mart for my Bronco with a 3 year replacement warranty. Sure enough, it would die before that replacement warranty was up which was usually like 2 to 2 1/2 years and I would be able to get a free replacement battery. Good luck and let us know which battery you went with.
