I've been having some difficulty telling the difference between the different C style heads. Here are the identifying characteristics I know about so far: 1. 99-01 cobra C heads, have smaller oval exhaust ports, are the same head casting for both sides and are reversible 2. ??-?? C style Navigator heads also have the smaller oval exhaust port, are the same head casting for both sides and are reversible 3. 02-03 early Terminator heads, have the larger more squared exhaust port, use the same head casting for both sides and are reversible. Only a few spark plug threads. 4. 03½-04 mid year style Terminator heads, have larger more squared exhaust port, use a dedicated left and right head casting, are not reversible. They do not have the two oil plugs on the bottom, or oil plugs for timing components on the back ends. They have over ½ inch of spark plug threads. These heads also have the cooling problem that causes them to tick. These are the higher performance Terminator heads. 5. 05 late year cooling fixed Terminator heads, same as mid year 03-04 heads except with the cooling problem fixed. There are also the higher performance Terminator heads. The point of all this is that I want a set of the higher performance Terminator heads and (I don’t really care if they have the cooling/tick problem). I’ve bought 2 sets of heads already that were supposed to be 03 heads and my performance shop tells me that they are early C style heads. What I think I keep buying are the 02-03 heads that are not the high performance Terminator heads. I didn’t know before that there could have been 3 different types of heads on the 03 cobras? Please help me get this head madness figured out! If anybody knows anything about these heads let me know.
Terminators are 03/04. There was no '02 Cobra except for the few they made for export to the Australian market. I'm no head expert, but the heads you want are the last ones released for the 03/04 Terminators. They are the best flowing, have revised cooling passages, and 9 versus 4 threads for the spark plugs.
