Just wanted to get some opinions out there on what some of you prefer in the way of computer mods and why. What kinds of chips, programers, etc. would you recommed for a N/A engine. You can see my list of mods below in my sig, this may not be my next mod, but I would like to know what direction I should be looking in.

All chips are pretty close, or so I gather from what I've heard. Superchips I was told allows tuners to do more fine tuning, but for your car there's not much to do anyway. Autologic is what I run and is a good chip.

It really comes down to a good tuner.

For your car, most tuners will simply get your a/f to about 13.1 to 1 and may add a degree or two of timing. My car (when n/a) made 4RWHP or so with 1 degree of timing added, then took that away with another degree on top of that. So it was burned with a 13.1 a/f and 1 degree more timing.

With your mods, it's not the best bang for your buck mod. Get some gears and a chip and that is worth while. :nice:

    SCT Superchips hand down..

99SVTAddict is right though, it wouldn't be the wisest mod right now

Custom bruning a chip? I have never heard of this, who does this and where? Also, I am thinking of this being my first mod on my 96 Cobra. Is this a good choice or should I save up for a little while and get headers attached to my own custom exhaust system? Or what mod do you all think should be my first mod?

You gotta have a plan. Staying N/A? then gears are your best mod IMO. :nice:

Instead of ordering a chip off the shelf.. You can go to certain places that have "blank" chips that they can custom burn for you and your mods..Place around here is called.. Haywoods Custom Speed Shop.. Here in Raleigh NC. Randy Haywood.

I noticed a big difference with my chip. Shawn Ellis @ SoCalDiablo. However, I would definately get gears first. Best bang for the buck. Then get the chip with parameters to adjust your speedo.
