Best Plugs for my NA application? Considering the mods in my signature, what spark plugs should I be using and what gap should i be using? (no nitrus or blower) thanks
Pretty one's with a shiny end Hey, I'm not going out of town this weekend afterall. So lets go for a little cruise on Saturday or something and we can talk then.....
SHM recommends NGK TR6 @ .035. It's one range colder than stock. They recommend two ranges colder @ .030 for blown applications.
Well, if you aren't getting any kind of spark blow out now from the higher compression, I would think that you could just stay with the stock gap.
Stock or stock replacement plugs, go for the max. gap (.056) for maximum spark and check them every 5-10k. I used the Champion Platinums last time, worked just fine for under $2.
A colder plug dissipates heat more quickly, so it's less likely to cause detonation. If you run plugs that are too hot, they can ignite fuel prematurely as it enters the cylinder.
