Just some thoughts from my perspective of playing around with my 95GT

Lets set the foundation for my application

Weekend toy only ... NOT ... My daily driver

    Goals:

I wanted around 300 to the wheels with these stipulations

    1) Naturally Aspirated combo built with my existing OEM block
    2) 100% legal and pass yearly Texas emmissions testing
    3) Good low & mid range torque with power to 6K or better
    4) Dynoed on a Dynojet with SAE Calibration
    5) Stock like driveability

Now ... having done did that and getting the T-Shirt and all ........

I just gotta say I've had a lot of fun
since I turned the wrenches and did the tuning myself :)

I mean ... the combo turned out better than I expected
Wish I had gone more aggressive with the cam :bang:

    but still ...

The little GT is so much fun to drive with it's strong low
and mid range power curve and all .....
    3rd & 4th gears just rock :Word:

    B U T

If I had another really clean stick trans Stang with 50K miles to do
    it all over again ...............

Well ... I'd really like to do it all over ... two times :D

One way would be an all motor 347 :nice:

    The other would be with
OEM block, OEM parts, and a KB :nice:

Any of you guys like me
    and
Want to do it all over again ... differently

Absolutely! I think about this once a month. I wish I had spent my money on go-fast parts rather than full suspension. Being much wiser now, I'll make well planned decisions on the car in the future. Trust me, when I graduate college and get a good job, it will be GO time for both of my Stangs!!! :nice:

    I would love to do a turbo setup...347 dart with a T76 or a 393-427 NA motor.

I have thought about buying a roller notch and putting my currant motor in that...then build one of the above combos....

    1. Dont have the garage space or funds...yet.

    2. I really want to build either a 32 ford 3 window, 37 ford, or factory 5 cobra next when number 1 has been checked off.

    3. To do number 2 I would be willing to sell the 94 so it would remove any ability to do any other combo without starting all over again anyway.

Keeping the mustang means 3 car garage at least in the next house if I want to build any of number 2. Two toys would be great...but I will be thankfull to have one. I will be happy either way and just hope the need for change/to have something to tinker with does not force my hand. I really do in the end love the 94...even it turns out slow as hell and gets 8mpg.

In the end. yes I would like to do something else but not because I am unhappy with the currant setup. My only real goal is to have fun with the hobby and learn.

I have a question for you, Grady. I see that there is no 351(+) Windsor option. Why is that? I know that the 347 will be close in CID to a "stockish" Windsor, but it seems like a somewhat popular swap. (And one that I'm considering/amassing parts to do.)

I mean, I know how much you like bottom end, useable power. That would be the "ultimate" in that regard. Just looking for your thoughts on it. ;)

    Yes Rob

You just gotta consider the Windsor :Word:

You are so right about putting that option on one's short list :nice:

Since I'm mostly a Street Car kinda guy :)
    and
We are just thinking out loud here :D

I suspect I could build up a budget 347 for less cash than a Stroked Windsor
with the special headers, hood, etc

I reckon I'm looking for the most hp per dollar spent kinda thing

If money was not an option ..............

I'd love to do my combo over again with a stouter cam from Ed
along with some porting on my RPM or maybe a Holley intake
and shoot for 350 to 360 SAE to the wheels and see how
close to stock drivability I could tune it to

I've always suspected it would be stock like or not all that far
    from it

But Sure ... a big Windsor would be just dandy

I would have gone with a higher comp NA rather than my 9.5 and maybe a cam by ed curtis. That saying I was keeping a 302 based motor.

But really I wish I would have spent another 1000 dollars and built a 427 stroker motor either way I bought all the supporting mods that I would have needed anyways. But thats me
