First of all, I don't know much about audio besides how to install a headunit so sorry ahead of time if this is just something stupid. A few months ago the speaker in my driver's side door started randomly making a buzzing noice, this was with the factory head unit. Even after installing an aftermarket hu a month ago, the same strange buzzing/crackling noise comes back every once and awhile. The odd thing is that it seems to happen after I hit a bump and in most cases when the window is down. It also seems to happen often whenever the door gets slammed shut. Also, the sound will go away if the hu is shut off. Is this a blown speaker or maybe just a loose wire ? The car is an 89 LX Convertible. Any help would be great
The insulation probably rubbed off one of the speaker wires, and it's scraping against the metal. Usually it happens where the wires run through the grommet into the door, so I'd check there first.
