Boost guage reading

    What gear is best for reading the boost? When im in 4th gear and full throttle until it red lights it shows 16psi and if i do it in 2nd gear it will hit 18psi and then the guage flickers.

    does it ping-bounce or just read different?
    factory guage need replacement?

    If it's an aftermarket gauge, it should say the same thing in all gears at WOT.

    The car fills like it falls off but picks it back up. Its a free sunpro guage and i know its bad so i order'd a new auto meter guage. Another thing when the car idles it has a bad bump or miss to say. Can you guys give me any thoughts. I ran a 14.8@98 with a 2.599 60'. This was on small 225 radials.
    O and the car dont ping or pop. I also need a bigger fuel pump still stock.

    I actually had a nice carbon fiber autometer gauge that broke on me... and I replaced it with a cheap sunpro gauge and havent had any problems with it.
