All I can say is this car is something else! I got it used and traded in my 99GT vert. These cars are different like night and day :D The seats really are so much better than the GT and the handling is far superior plus staring out at that shaker hood behind the wheel is awsome.

I'm only dissapointed that it'a an auto, I miss driving the 5 speed already! It came down to this one or a 03 Torch Red 5 speed w/8k. But in the end I wanted the Azure blue as the color is much different and unique to the Mach1. Ended up paying $20,995 which in my opinion is a steal for these cars!

At first, It didn't feel that much stronger or faster than the GT, but it's bone stock/auto and the 99GT was modded pretty well.

I did check today on the insurance difference and my agent told me the Mach would be $200.00 more every 6 months versus the GT? :bs: Being 39 and a perfect driving record this doesn't seem right? Must be that "R" in the VIN and a DOHC. I would have the rate would be about the same since convertibles are usually higher to insure?

    Congrats! :nice:

I know how you feel about going to an auto from a manual. I did several years back and found that a 4 series rear gear, shift kit and stall coverter helped the need to be clutching a lot. :D

Thanks! I'm sure I'll get used to the auto for now. It just feels like the car is driving me instead of me driving it. Weird? :(

I see you have Kumho's on yours, I had them on my last car. How well do those stock Goodyear Eagle ZR45's hold up? Looks like I have about 50% tread left for now. Are these decent tires?

The stock Goodyears were a good tire but I felt the Kumho's were a step above them for all around handling in the dry and 3 steps above in the wet. I'm not sure, but I think the Kumho's will last a little longer but I tend to push it more now so that is debatable.

I know there are high performance tires better than the Kumho's in the dry, but they don't handle as well in the wet or last as long. The icing on the cake with the Kumho's is the price is right around a 100 bucks each.

Yep, its the "R" in the serial that makes the insurance so high.

Not fair, the Saleens, Roushs and Steedas have lower insurance.

You said it all!! Having had a 99GT 35th anniversary vert the last 5 years and although it was a nice car, the Mach is so better in about ever way imaginable. :flag: No buyer's remore so far and I don't think there will be! Both were great cars, this one is just far and beyond what the GT could ever be. :D
