Where is the brakle switch on 02 Mustangs? I posted a while back that my shifter wasn't coming out of park unless I used two hands to push in the button. Then silver_sn95_v6 replied that it could be my brake switch if my brake lights weren't working. Being an idiot I decided not to check them, cuz I figured there was no way since it was a relatively new car. Then today a guy came up behind me at a stoplight and told me my brake lights weren't working.

So my question is where is the brake switch in my car, how much does a new one cost and where to get one, and how tough is it to change it out myself?

It is mounted on the brake pedal bracket, Look for a 2 pin connector with these wire colors:
    Green / red stripe
    Red / green stripe
The connector may have fallen off.

First check or replace your brake light fuse (15A).
You can check if the switch is bad by removing the connector and jumping the two pins with a short piece of stiff wire stripped at both ends. If the brakes lights turn on, the switch is probably bad. If the brake lights still do not work, it's something else.
