I am building a 351w based 427 stroker motor that will be procharged. I am wanting to clean up my engine bay a lot and want to eliminate all the wiring. I was wondering what u guys thought about going to a carb setup over fi. Good idea or bad. Pros and cons. Anyone running a carbed supercharger setup. If so how do you like it. Thanks
from what ive gathered so far its mostly about personal preference and budget. And that there isnt too much of a HP difference over Carb vs EFI
The good side is a carb is cheaper maybe easier. But it dumps the same amount of fuel dispite changes in temps etc so its harder to tune especially with a forced induction. So the down side is you do not have the EFI computer to tune it and re-tune it all in all kinds of climate.
I think that there are pros and cons to both setups. I am just trying to figure out which route to go. Money isn't a huge issue. It will be about the same for both considering that a blow through carb runs around a grand. I already have a set of 60 lb injectors from my fi setup if i decide to go that way as well. I just cant decide. I have been told to go carberated just about as much as I have been told to stay fuel injected
i had a blow thru turbo carb and it was the first time to do that it took alittle time to get it to run good.i made 1 good pass and blow the motor up. if money is not a problem i would do a efi with a fast system or anther efi set up
