I would spray everything with epoxy first. Then do all your filler work on top of the filler. A good epoxy is dplf from ppg they make most colors, black, grey, white, red oxide, grey green, green, and blue. Once the bodywork is finished spray at least three coats of wet heavy primer surfacer. I use ncp 270 with a catalyst ncx275, very good for corrosion and a great filler. then sand and use epoxy for a sealer, base and clear.
