Assuming I actuallygo through with my plan to buy a new GT, I am going to put exhaust on it relatively quickly. I've read on here that the stock exhaust is pretty good, and I wouldn't see much in the way of power increase by going aftermarket (which is OK because I want the sound). If this is the case, will putting on a catted X- or H-Pipe do anything for me power or soundwise(I have emissions) or will I just be wasting my money? My searches seem to only lead to offroad crossovers, with mixed reviews on sound results.

For further background, for now I don't plan on doing anything significant to the car in terms of mods, as I'd rather save up for something faster out of the box in the future... So no need to consider if I'd be putting on a s/c or anything like that.

    Thanks for your input!

Soundwise, the catted midpipe will be probably 5db louder at WOT than the stock midpipe. Performancewise, you may pick up a couple of ponies, but nothing to speak of.
