I've only had it happen one time.....cleaned the CD, and been trouble-free since.

The Shaker 500s, at least the first versions, had many problems. If it persists, go to your dealer or get you and aftermarket head unit and never worry about it again.

The one on my 07 seems to work fine, except if you put it on random with a mp3 CD, it isn't very random at all and seems to keep hitting the same 30 or so songs over and over again. I even had it hit the same song 3 times in a row once.

What program are you using to burn the disc?

I've had this problem with my 07 GT's Shaker 500 where it will say "BAD DISC" whenever I try to play the last song.

The solution was to use Windows XP's built-in CD burning tool. My guess is that the Shaker 500 was designed for the average PC user who wants to burn MP3s to disc, and the average PC user is going to use XP's built-in tool, iTunes, or some other turn-key app. I was using Nero when I ran into the "BAD DISC" situation with my Memorex 12x CD-RWs. I tried burning at a slower speed, using other ISO formats, cleaning, etc... to no avail.

Im on my second head unit and it still is selective on which songs to play, it seems it hates any songs above 11. I am getting seriously tired of this peice of crap stereo.

Try XP's built-in burning tool. It's kind of quirky to use at first, but it's not hard to use. It worked for my Shaker 500.
