what is the easiest, simplist, and cheapest way to hit around 300 hp with a 2.3T from a merkur??? i figure exaust, boost valve, BOV, fuel pressure regulator?, better fuel pump (what should i go with?) intercooler, and what else would it take?
The stock computer, vam, turbo, and injectors all max out right around there. What that means is you'll need to port the head/intakes/E6 exhaust mani, full 3" exhaust, cone filter, a GOOD intercooler, and run 23-24psi...which will require a bit of race gas mixed in with the pump gas. You'll also need to run about 50psi base fuel pressure to get the stock injectors to flow enough for 300rwhp.
coooooool. with just a boost controller, exaust, BOV, cone filter, intercooler, and better fuel pump, what kind of power would be achievable? thanks jeff
I'm hoping to hit 300 also, currently i've got Aeromotive FPR Walboro 255 Bobs Log Gillis Stingers Front Mount 35LB Injectors 8UA 88 TC Auto Computer .63 Garrett T3 3" downpipe into 2 2 1/2" Duals with Dynamax Ultraflows and Stingers downpipe Hopefully I'm close the A4LD I have has a complete rebuild with a shift kit and much much better cooler and will have synthetic fluid
Well you could build the motor up a little bit N/A but don't build it to the point where you can't use a turbo. You could use nitrous but you said no nitrous, water injection would help but it is sorta like nitrous but not as effective. I do not know if this artcle will help you but this got got 330HP out of his pony. http://www.mustangmonthly.com/featuredvehicles/mump_0412_1986_ford_mustang_svo_modified_muscle_car/
