Um they're FWD... there was a supercharged one at the dyno the other day I think it put down 240ish but I forgot... it was definately lacking in the TQ dept. It for sure is not a Neon killer, let alone a danger to any 99+ Stang.

The funny thing is when u go on their sites, redlineforums.com, cobaltss.net etc they swear up and down that Mustang GTs, Mach 1s and pretty much any other sporty car are an easy kill. Most sound like a bunch of ricers with their first semi fast car.

The kid that dyno'd his was pretty cool, I don't know if he was happy with his numbers or not, but he was at a Mustang dyno day... One thing that amazed me though was the rear quarter panel, and the rear bumper had the flake layed down differently in the factory paint (as far as I know), thats pretty sad if GM can't get the paint right. I'm sure they can be made quick, but they will never be fast (I don't think)

No they don't beat the neon SRT4...2 years ago when i was selling Dodge we took a SRT4 over to our sister dealer which is Chevy to see how they stacked up. We ran them against each other several times with the Neon besting the Cobalt SS everytime...both were fun to beat on though.

Like I said, they can surprise a bolt-on GT if you do that gay roll racing crap. But if you run at the track, theres no reason a stock SS should touch a GT.

Stage 2 vs. Bolt-on and geared GT, close, but the GT wins. Throw cams in the mix and its goodnight Generals Daughter.

But again, try telling them that. The general* attitude of that community is why I dislike the vast majority of them. Luckily the two Cobalt owners I know are cool mofo's and dont have E-muscles.

I didn't drive one but I rode in a stock except for BOV SRT4 last Sunday, man that's a sporty little car. Feels very different compared to our Stangs, so light on it's feet. But man the interior feels so crappy with like no sound deadening and what not. But it'd be a fun car to screw around with if I had cash to burn. Also can't get over the 4 doors and "Hi" look of the front end, but I can see how they can be made fast as **** though.
