Has anyone ever seen a Cobra II with T-Tops? There is one for sale on ebay and I think it is a clone but I wanted to see what you all think. Thank you and have a great day.

As long as the buck tag has CB on it, it is a Cobra II. T-tops were just an option available on any hatchback.

To be honest every Cobra II I can remember back in the day had T-Tops. I just took for granted that the Cobra II came with that option.

Thanks guys. I remember when the cobra II's came out and I have yet to see a t-top model. I have always loved the mustang II style and this weekend bought my oldest daughter a very clean cobra II. We will put a Fuel Injected 2.3 L with an auto trans with overdrive. I am proud that my daughter is following me in my love and obsession for this type of car. Again, thanks.

There is one other way to tell if it's a true Cobra II t-top. Every t-top II has that vinyl "targa band" that runs over the top of the car behind the doors and the tops - EXCEPT the Cobra II. That was in order to continue to use the quarter window louvers. Ford never made cut-down louvers like you see on a lot of t-top cars now, those are longer ones modified by the owner.

That's not to say an owner couldn't delete the targa band, I've seen that too...

If you DO go with an autobox overdrive, try to either stay away from the A4LD altogether, or, if that's what you have, get it built to at LEAST the specs used on the 4.0 version.

The A4LD is what Ford put behind the 2.3 Mustangs in the 80's, and its generally one of the weakest POS's Ford ever used...
