I just purchased a 93 LX convertible (2.3) and the top has some issues....I knew this when I bought it.

On the passenger side the top frame droops at the middle joint over the center of the door window. What would cause this? All of the hinges seem OK...it is too cold here in Wisconsin to do too much with it right now. I've read that this is a somewhat common problem.

Any hints would be helpful I'm sure.

I'm very happy to have a Mustang back...my last one was about 8 yrs ago and I've always missed it.

The 80's and early 90's Mustang convertibles have a lot of issues because they were sent out and converted by American Sun Roof Company. It could be a bent bar as part of the roof frame, I had a section that got bent on a 1986 Convertible and I ended up having to replace the whole frame from a salvage yard and get a new top.

    Hi,

It sounds like your retaining cable is streched or broken. Mine does the same thing.
