This is an odd ball question, just something I was wondering about. At idle, when my car is at normal operating temp, my A/C compressorkicks on fora few seconds then goes off. Is this because the thermostat opened and the engine needed to be cooled slighty. I am asking because I have never heard or seen my fan ever run. I know at highway speeds, the air flow through the radiator will help cool the enigne, but at idle, the compressor kicks in. Just wondering if this is normal on all stangs or not. Noting is wrong with my car and it has done it for as long as I can remember.
Positive its not the fan, Ive stood and watched it before, I know its no big deal, but I was just curious about it. I know for a fact that it is the A/C compressor kicking in. And I have never seen my fan run before, I'm not sure if it ever has while driving. Not a big deal, jsut wondering why this is.
so you have your A/C running while it does this? cause thats normal for a compressor to turn on and off with the A/C on.
i think i understnad what you're describing; in that case, i think/hope it's normal because mine does it as well..
It does this while the A/C is off. I know the compressor comes on while the A/C is on, I checked all that. And i rarely use my A/c anyway, thats why I first noticed it. I think it's all normal, I was just wondering if anyone knows more about it since the compressor will run, and I have NEVER seen my fan on, not totatlly sure it even works but I'm guessing it does. I've never had a problem with my car, just the way it's always been since I got it back in March of 2003.
My 01 Auto does the same thing at first i thought it was my CAI but i checked the ther day before work and i noticed the pulley would spin for a couple seconds then stop. I doubt it is a problem though. My car has done since ive owned it.
