    I have an '87 LX Convertible, 2.3 w/A4LD auto trans (Yeah, I know, I really want a 2.3T and a 5-spd.. LOL)

When I bought it, the cooling fan did not run. I ran the heater to keep it cool. I unplugged and replugged the connector on the motor, no change.

A couple days ago, I was wondering if Ford duplicated what they had done in my former '96 Ford Windstar minivan - That is, make the cooling fan come on whenever an A/C mode was selected - Max A/C. Norm, Mix, & Defrost.

It did, and I now switch between Vent and Defrost positions, however - I don't want to put any undue stress on my A/C system (Which is in working order), so what do I need to check to get the cooling fan running correctly?

    Thanks...

There is a relay box under the dash I know there was a post awhile back about that controls the fan when the sending unit reaches like 180 degrees i believe.
I had the same problem and got me a fan from a taurus and wired a switch up with a relay and just turn it on when i know shes going to run hot!!!
Works out pretty good as long as i don't forget about it!!!LoL........
