Crushed a brand spakin' new S2000 (3000 miles) with an aftermarket tune and a CAI. My car just has the hydrocarbon trap removed and a tune. It has about 5k on the odometer. It was one of my sister's friends and we talked before the run so this wasn't some chance meeting. We both did our burnouts on an old, deserted (and undisclosed) road. I settled myself into the seat, revved her up to 2200 RPM and when the flag man dropped his hands, we went. The S2000 got its nose in out front off the line, but I pulled him the rest of the way. By the time I shut her down at around 110 he was a good 3 car lengths behind. Money changed hands and later at Denny's, I was given several compliments from my competitor and a lot of silence from the anti-mustang crowd. I LOVE this car!!!!
cool. I also blew the doors off an S2000 a couple weeks back from a rolling start. and to make things even funnier he was rolling from 1st and i was in 2nd, pulled right from the start and the gap just kept getting bigger and bigger!
Good kill. The S2000s strong points are in the mountain roads but in the drag race the V8 torque gets them every time!
Those things actually run pretty good. I played with one (father in law's girlfriend owned it) right after I got my '02. I couldn't downright kill it, but it was unable to beat me. The results were the same with either myself or dad driving. Neat little car, just too damned small.
