I have noticed in all recent communiques from Ford that they are now indicating a "Late Fall" release of the 2005 Mustang. Originally, they stated a fall release. The Mustang website, however, still says "Coming Fall 2004," but I am beginning to wonder when they will actually hit dealer lots.

    If:
Late Sept/Early Oct = Early Fall
    Late Oct/Early Nov = Fall
    Late Nov/EarlyDec = Late Fall
And Ford is now stating Late Fall in their communiques, I am assuming that we won't see them on lots until Late Nov/Early Dec. Of course, Ford could be making this statement to err on the side of safety and I am sure Job 1 is still on schedule, it just raises the question of when we really will see the cars we ordered.

I have preordered Mustangs twice in my life, now a 3rd time, and the first 2 times I'll tell you this: whatever date the dealer gives you for your car to arrive, add two months. I ordered a 99 vert in Nov of 98, was told it would come in the third week of April... I got it August 9th, 1999.

It seems that people on the forums say earily September, in magazines they say earily October, and at the dealerships they say earily November. I've just come to the conclusion that they will be out when they are out.

does it really matter what date it is finally released? Ford is keeping everyone running around making a bunch of assumptions, :nice: to Ford for building the hype with little to no cost in advertising as of yet

Exactly, and I know I won't be getting one right away, so it must not bother me as much as those of you who've ordered yours already

There was a press release where Ford listed its 2005 models, like the Freestar, that would be in dealer's showrooms in September. It then went on to say that the new 2005 Mustang will be showrooms sometime after that.

That kind of hinted, to me, that the Mustang will not be out until after September. Otherwise, would it have not be included in their list of new models due out in September?
