I was reading on this forum about a guy who had an electrical fire in his stang and put it out with his bottled drinking water. Lucky for him huh. Well in the next week or so my fox will have about 7-8k worth of mods done to it, price including the tko. I would hate for this thing to burn down and not have a bottle of water around lol. So i was thinking of buying one of those mini mountable fire extinguishers from summit or something. Any of you guys done this or thought of it. Hell for a hundred bucks it might pay for itself. I was thinking of mounting it near the console more to the floor board on the passenger seat side. Where would u mount one?

I have one in my hatch but not mounted, just velcro to the carpet. I don't remember what I paid for it, I think it was around $15 at walmart. I keep one in all my cars.

Very good point. every car i've had has either had one mounted or stashed in the glove box. Make sure which ever one you buy it's "C" rated for electrical or else you'll do more damage! haha! mounted anywhere would look good except on the B pillar :nonono: passenger side kick panel area maybe...

I have had one in my vehicles since 1987. So far I have used one twice. Luckily not on my car, but have sure helped others not have burnt carnage.

a regular ABC extinguisher will be OK then right? some hard blowing can usually put out a small fire though, so i always do that first

Yeah mine is behind my seat....i too have to mount it somewhere. I think it's going on the passenger side of the trans tunnel since my car doesn't have a console.

I have 2 mounted on each a-pillar, and 2 mounted on the dash next to my v-tak gauge. But really, fire extinguishers are good to have, I have 2 rolling around in my truck but haven't put one in my car yet. Thanks for reminding me.

I've got a big ol' fatty extinguisher wedged in that little corner pocket on the passenger-side of the back seat. It's one of those ABC rated extinguishers that's meant for home use. I started carrying it shortly after I bought my notch and the injectors started drooling fuel, and I've left it in there ever since.

WTF is up with those dinky little chrome-plated extinguishers I see being sold all the time? (Pretty sure some crap company like APC makes them.) They don't look like they'd even hold enough stuff to put out a friggin' birthday cake.
