I'm looking for long tubes. #1, I want stainless steel. #2, I want a slip-fit collector to mate to my "shorty" Bassani X-pipe So far all I see available that meet that criteria are JBA, SLP, Kook's, & Stainless Works. I've always been a fan of Kooks, but piecing together the primaries has it's pros & cons. They'll be easier to install, but this car is my daily driver and will have lots of miles put on it, so I'm afraid of exhaust leaks with all the unwelded joints. JBA seems to be producing good results with performance and fit. Only their price makes me consider the competition. I have seen no one yet with SLP long tubes. I see them advertised in the mag ads, but have not actually seen anybody with them. I've read some about Stainless Works, but I never heard of them till they released the headers for the 3V's. How well is their fit? I am a HUGE Bassani fan, I have their X-pipe and will have their axle back. I'd LOVE to have their headers if/when they are released. Does anybody know if they are available yet? thanks!
If anybody is interested, I spoke with Sheldon @ Bassani yesterday and they said they have a set of longtubes fabbed up on a shop car right now; they are just driving it around for a few weeks to see how the fit & everything is just to make sure there are no issues. He said they are about 30-60 days away from release. The initial header will be a 1 5/8" with a 2.5" slip fit collector. I'm just going to wait for their headers since I already have their shorty X-pipe
