So i got the 93 all torn apart and hidding all the wires and repainting everything as well as the motor and upper intake. Here are a few pics of what i got so far. If any of you could ad some of yours that would be great as for i'm always looking for ideas! So here ya go let me know what ya think or any ideas! I ran across a couple more ideas today and will post them and pics tomorrow or monday. I agree. it looks a little to white. I just recently painted my engine bay flat black. It looks a lot better because the engine sticks out more (especially the chrome) and wires dont stick out as much. Especially the wires that are in black split loom. When I get home Ill post a couple pics.
Personally I like when the bay matches the exterior color. But this is all personal preference. I bet it will look very nice when it's all finished up.
I'm not sure how far you want to go with hiding wires, brake line and things but this might give you some ideas? Personally I like the engine bay color to match the exterior color, but that's just me. And I think white is probably even better.
ALMOST STOCK Those are some sweet pics man awsome ride ! The only thing that will be exposed on the firewall is the wiper motor and brake lines, i will paint the lines white to blend them in , i also need turned on to where you got the polishied peice on the firewall? My intake will be white with the cobra cover polished and the inlay on it white. The wheels are american racing but not sure on what style? The part number for them might be AR699? These are the wheels you guys were talking about right? Or did you mean the set the skinnies and slicks are on? peace john
I dont want to start a war but to me thats about the gettoist thing is when someone changes the body color and dosent do under the hood or door jams or the trunk. But everyone is intitled to an opinion peace john
John have you given it any thought about tucking the brake lines under the pinch weld instead of leaving them run across the top of the pinch weld? If you do then there is no need to paint them. As far as the polished firewall cover contact Tstang90 here on Stangnet he sells them.
Looks good, i am a fan of keeping it the same color myself 2 quick questions, how hard was it to weld? I've heard the metal isn't very thick making it difficult also, when hiding the brake lines under the pinch, is there enough slack to just push them under there, or is any modification required? -Jason
Jason , i can answer one of those questions for you. It isnt hard at all to weld them up just set the machine low and sorta trigger it in, on some of the bigger holes i used some brass or copper backing , and i'm using .30 hard wire with gas, the machine i'm using is a lincoln weld pack 3200 hd so yeah pieace of cake! Oh wait..... i've been welding for over 10 years so well maybe for others it might be hard The other guy (sorry forgot your name) will have to answer part 2 to the question or give me a couple of days and i will. peace john
I did a little welding at this prototype shop i worked at one summer, it was TIG and I definately wouldn't call myself very good. We have a 220 plug in the barn for a MIG welder, but my dad hasn't got one yet I don't think. Would you reccomend the one you have?

Hell yeah i would! For what little and thin stuff you'd weld on a car it's fine.Plus if you go to dual shield wire with my machine you can weld up to a 1/4" thick stuff. Get better at that heliarc (TIG) cause thats by far the best way to go!peace john
