There are a few old threads on this subject (I searched) but they stop and are never followed up. My question is can you take a shelby leather stitched door arm rest and mount it on a regular mustang. I hate the old rubber armrest on the door and the leather ones look nicer. Can you buy just the leather armrest from ford if so what's the ford part number? Or do you have to go with the whole door panel? Thanks
I have a GT with the upgraded interior that has the leather arm rest. So I guess the answer is, yes, you can do it. I would talk to my local Ford parts guy.
Id like to see some pictures of that armrest. I too get sometimes annoyed ith the rubber one lol. When any type of water gets on it leaves a nasty black mark that drives me nuts lol.
my 08 gt premium has leather arm rests, leather glare shield, and diamond cut leather inserts in the door around the handle...
It's part of the premier package (not to be confused with premium) IIRC. Leather armrests, leather diamond cut inserts in the doors, leather center console armrest, leather dash. Basically just like the GT500 interior. Dan
That's what I have but I have never heard any part of it referred to as a leather glare shield. Is that Ford terminology? If so, for all of the package or part of it?
so can you remove the door arm rest from the door panel as to swap it out? The diamond cut panel door inserts I know are integral with the door panel itself and cannot be swapped from one panel to another panel but has anyone taken the arm rest cushion off? I am too lazy to investigate this and tear off my door panel. And more importantly, can you buy just the door leather armrest part from ford? Jack
