I found a set of ten holes for a decent price so now i've got some rims for track use.

I'm looking at drag radials to replace the Nittos i've got on there now. I'm torn between MT and the BFGs, maybe some of you guys can help my decision.

I'm wondering about the wear of the tires. I'll be driving 30-45 minutes to/from the track on them and i plan on going most weekends this summer. I should be able to get ~5-10 passes each night at the track. I dont want them gone halfway through the summer. :(

and what size for ten holes? 15x7. I was thinking 235/60/15 in either, sound good?

Both would work fine. Personally? I would go for the new MT's!! On the sizes, I would shoot for a 26' tall size.

I recommend the new style MT's or the M&H's. You can actually get a lot of miles out of them.

i've heard from previous threads on THIS message board that bfg's outlast MT's by about three times.... according to the members on this forum, mt's are ****ed at about 5000 miles.

    Nittos last longest, hook least.
    BFG's last less, hook better
    MT's last least, hook best.

I've got a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials on a set of 15x7 Mustang V6 wheels. They're 27x10.5x15 and they bulge a little, so a set of 235/60/15's will fit just fine. They hook like gangbusters. Even when I was still running an open diff I was still dead hooking with over 300lbs/ft of torque at the rear wheels coming off the line. I've only got about 15-passes on them thus far and only use them at the track, so no experience with street wear. But their tread profile tells me they'd be pretty scary on anything but clean, dry pavement.

Can't speak for the BFG's, but I have heard a lot of issues with premature wear.

The MTs seem to work well on the track but don't hook for **** on the street, and have extremely short tread wear. My buddy went through a set in less than 3k miles with no track time and barely any burnouts, probably because they were spinning through every gear on the street with only 300hp. The original style BFGs on the same car lasted twice as long with 200 more rwhp, track passes where it dead hooked on 6k launches, and with proper street prep would dead hook at 6k. Many more burnouts as well. I hear many good things online about the MTs but have yet to see anybody happy with them on the street.

:( i'm getting mixed reviews for the MTs both through "search" and by talking to different people.

I think i might go with the BFGs this time and see how they do. If anything, it should be a step up from the Nittos.

Thanks for all the replies guys!!! :nice:

cool will do. I plan on going to NTR a bunch with a former roommate who drives a Nissan Z. Could be Wednesdays, Fridays, and/or TnTs. I think he said he's running mid-14s in it now all stock. He doesn't think his car is a rocket or anything, but he sure has a BLAST.
