OK the more sensible alarm question first. On a '01 GT if you arm the factory alarm system with the remote then use the remote to open the trunk, does the alarm re-arm itself after you close the trunk?

Seat question. Why do I have something that looks like cake crumbs on the carpet almost directly below the lumbar adjustment switch on my driver's seat? I very, very, very seldom eat anything in the car and have never eaten cake in it. I don't drive the car much so it's often a month or so between vaccums, but I've definately noticed more down there between the last three times. BTW there was some down there when I bought the car, but I didn't pay it much attention. Does anyone else have this issue.

Um... I don't think we have an alarm. Just a panic feature that makes annoying noises.

I think the 98 style had a real alarm option?

Mine does the same thing. I think its the foam padding in the seat coming apart. Mine has the leather so I dont know if the cloth seats do this or not? Take your back seat out and look at the bottom of it and you can see what this stuff looks like when ford puts it in. :nonono:

they do come with factory alarms, mine did, but i have an aftermarket which is much better...

if ya really wanna find out, roll your windows down, set the alarm, wait 30 seconds, pop your truck, shut it, then reach in through the open window and open the door.. if the alarm goes off it still set...

My seat was doing the same thing. In fact, it's at the dealership right now. It's the support bolsters on the bottom of the seat cushion coming through the cushion material. It's not supposed to do that. Mine is at the point now that there is no padding between the seat fabric and the metal bolster. I just called the dealership and they are working on it right now. He says they will probably just replace the bottom part of the seat. If I were you I'd keep your eye on it. If it's under warranty, take it in. If not, get rid of them and get some aftermarket lightweight seats or find some new cobra seats. Those are nice!
