i have a 93 lx 2.3L. it's my first car and i was wondering if anyone knows any cheap and easy mods i could do to it myself at home to add power. I am looking for either cheap parts i could add or any modifications i can do to existing parts on the car in order to make it run better. It is, as i can tell, completely stock except for a brand new exhaust system that i put on it. I think it has a paper air filter on it now so the first thing i will do is replace that with a k&n filter but any other advice would be appreciated.

Cheapest and its free is to remove the air intake snorkel that is attached to the bottom of the air filter box. It seemed to help, who really knows. Then for $40 I put in a K&N drop in filter in the stock air box. That is probably the cheapest mods and easiest. Some days mine seems fast, other days not fast enough.

I put the new bosch ir fusion plugs a blaster coil, cam ,header, flowmaster exhaust, and a dual ram air kit i made from the spectre modular intake kit it has a posi 3:73 rear end and i removed the bumper supports, sway bar, spare tire, and that makes it quite quick for a 4 banger im estimating it has 120-130 hp but it is much lighter now and has great acceleration. I have a set of 26" slicks for fun and i can light them up actually
