egr valve deletes

    just wonderin how much hp can be gained from deleting the egr valve.

    You will gain approximately 0 rwhp. The EGR valve is closed during WOT.

    the only thing i heard good about it was that it prevents "carbon build-up" in the intake side of the engine, but i haven't seen any real proof of that yet...

    Simply blocking mine off with a homemade gasket between the pipe and plenum dropped intake temperatures a bit, but absolutely killed my fuel economy.

    i have no egr, i took it off when i did my engine build, and erased it in the tune, it cleans up the engine bay too

    previously stated the egr is closed at wot its only in effect when cruising to allow the pcm to lean out the a/f for better mpg

    The EGR does not lean out the a/f ratio. It puts dead air in the combustion chamber to lower chamber temps to improve emmisions.

    Your right I fail, but it CAN increase mpg aswell, maybe not greatly but better is better
