Ok, don't know if anyone talked about this yet, but I was at the Philly Auto Show this past weekend and was talking to the Ford guy and he said that they are going to have a Boss 350, with 350 HP and an Eleanor with 500 HP  :hail2: :nice: . He did not say which years they will come out though. The one thing that confused me was that I took the impression that the Mustang Cobra might be lost to the Ford Cobra which I have seen on the Discovery Channel (i think). Not totally sure, but he said something like that and it confused me and I didnt get a chance to follow up. But I can't wait to but the Eleanor...Hopefully in 2006. Oh I can't wait, 500HP and 500TQ. Oh Man :D

I'd say don't count on anything on this point. Somewhere else someone posted that they were talking to a "Ford" person at a different auto show and was told that there will be a GT-350 with the S/C 4.6L engine from the 03/04 Cobra rated @ 400+ HP and a GT-500 with the S/C 5.4L engine from the Ford GT rated at 500 HP.

Most of the "Ford" reps. you see at the auto shows are contractors who are hired to do the show circuit and are NOT Ford employees.

So what will appear as special editions of the new Mustang is anyone's guess but using the 4.6L & 5.4 S/C engienes makes a lot of sense since those engines are fully developed and ready to go. Ford has also recently updated its trademark registration on the Boss name so there could be a new Boss of some type.

I def wouldent count on that. Its been my expierence that most "ford" people will say whatever you want to hear or sounds good. It would be nice it they did though.

I would think any type of Eleanor Mustang would be a very long shot being that Ford would probably have to buy the rights to Eleanor from whoever made the movie and that probably would never happen. That's just what I was thinking.

Okay, you're Shelby rendition is simply the best looking Mustang I have ever set eyes on! :nice:

Here's what everyone should do: Start a letter-writing campaign to Ford and show them what the next Shelby should look like - like yours.

Everything about your car is bang on. The back lights just ROCK. The only thing is that obviously the hood couldn't be so large, 'cause it blocks the windshield, but otherwise... :hail2:

My fantasy if Ford builds this car? Ship one to Europe, then drive to the main offices of all the big sports car marques like Ferrari, Porche, etc...and say: Wanna come out and play...?

By the by, what size wheels and tires were you emulating in that picture?

Looks like 18" wheels and rear tires around...275/45. Am I close?

An Eleanor model would be nice, but it would have to have nitrous and a "Go Baby Go" button on the shift knob.

But seriously, though, if they did a Bullit Mustang, I don't see why they couldn't pull of an Eleanor. I'm just hesitant about the idea of a GT-350 or GT-500 remake. If they do the GT-350 for two years in reasonable volume (10k units/yr), then the GT-500 in smaller volume (say, 5k units/yr), and then offer the Eleanor as a very limited run version of the GT-500 in the last year (under 5k units) with around 650rwhp (and priced around $50k), Ford would get a ton of free publicity and dealer traffic, which is precisely what the Ford GT and Mustang are great at doing.
